How insurance and extended-warranty claims actually work for RV repairs: what to do first, which providers we work with, and the one step that most often gets warranty claims denied.

A good share of our work is insurance and extended-warranty repairs, from hail and collision damage to failed appliances under a protection plan. The repair is usually the easy part. Getting the claim approved smoothly is where knowing the process helps.

Providers We Regularly Work With

  • FCCP (First Canadian Protection Plan): extended warranty
  • Cornerstone / Xtraride: extended warranty
  • ICBC: BC's public auto insurer, for collision and damage claims
  • SAL Insurance
  • Aviva

If your provider isn't listed, call us. We can usually work with them.

Insurance Claims (Damage)

  1. Take photos of the damage right away, before anything is moved or covered.
  2. Open a claim with your insurer and write down the claim number.
  3. Bring the RV to us, or arrange mobile inspection. We document the damage and prepare the estimate for the adjuster.
  4. Once the adjuster approves, we complete the repair and handle the paperwork with the insurer directly.

Extended Warranty Claims (Breakdowns)

  • Call before any repair begins. Most plans require authorization first. Work done before approval is often not covered.
  • Have your contract number and the RV's VIN ready.
  • Expect diagnosis to come first. The administrator usually needs our findings, and sometimes photos, before approving.
  • Keep your maintenance records. Plans can deny claims if neglect contributed to the failure.

What We Handle for You

We deal with adjusters and warranty administrators every week. We submit diagnostics, photos and estimates in the format they expect, so your claim isn't held up going back and forth.
